<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to the Right Honorable Lord Kelvin [William Thomson], Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'My Lord,
Mr Preece has sent me on your request with regard to Major Cardew's candidature, and I have only found it here on my return from a short absence during the Christmas vacation, or I would have written earlier. Major Cardew's certificate has been resuspended at the request of Mr Preece, and your Lordship's name can be added at any time when you happen to be passing through town. I am not permitted to send certificates out of the house when once received.
I am, yours faithfully,
Robt Harrison
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.</dc:description>
