<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Charles Chree, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Asks for information in response to the following enquiry. Newman No. 42 barometer was sent to the Madras Observatory in 1840 and before being sent was compared with the Royal Society's Standard "Flint Glass" and "Crown Glass". Asks if any comparisons were made between these standards and the present Kew standards and where they may be found. The resolution [?] is that the Royal Society standards are at Kew, and that one of them was in use as the Kew standard when Harrison was there. </dc:description>
