Copy letter from Michael Foster, to the Secretary of the Physical Society In reply to the Secretary's letter of 25th June, the President and Council have made a further grant of £50 from the Publication Fund in aid of the publication by the Physical Society of the abstracts of physical papers. The grant was made with great hesitation; the President and Council are most unwilling to take a step which might be appealed to as a precedent for using the fund in question to subsidize similar undertakings. 9 July 1897
