  <dc:description>The formal thanks for Maudslay's paper are enclosed herewith [not attached] with extracts from the report of one of the referee's. The Committee of Papers will be glad if Maudslay will give effect to their suggestions by including in the paper a short account of the system of chronology. If Rucker may judge from a recent article of Mausdslay's in 'Nature' he would imagine that the addition desired by the Committee would not occupy more that two or three pages of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. 

Apologizes that there has been some delay with the paper but it is a little outside the lines of those more commonly communicated to the Society and it has therefore been more difficult to deal with. </dc:description>
