Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Frank McClean, Fellow of the Royal Society By the same mail the Society are sending McClean proofs of two of the plates accompanying his 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' paper. Although McClean is absent from England, Professor [Arthur William] Rucker thought they should make a start with the engraving. They therefore saw Mr Perry last month and he took two plates to work from as first samples. Proofs of these are now sent for approval [not attached]. Explains why the originals cannot be sent. They do not propose putting any more plates in hand until they have heard from McClean about the proofs. 13 August 1897
