<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Major Percy Alexander MacMahon, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Has been looking into the question of MacMahon's proposal for illustrating the obituary notice of Professor [James Joseph] Sylvester with a portrait or portraits. As far as Harrison knows the matter has been awaiting a reply from MacMahon to an enquiry directed by Harrison from [Michael] Foster, as to the cost of such illustrations for an issue of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', or as to some more exact particulars on which Harrison could obtain an estimate of the cost. This refers only to the one portrait as Harrison understood from MacMahon that it is possible to borrow from the publishers of 'Nature' the means of reproducing the later portrait. </dc:description>
