[Letter crossed through and annotated as not sent] States a resolution resolved by Council today that the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee be reappointed, to consist on the part of the Royal Society of; Captain Abney, Mr Christie, Dr Common, Sir W Huggins, Sir J N Lockyer, Major MacMahon, Professor Schuster, Dr G J Stoney, General Tennant and Admiral Sir W J L Wharton. The President, Treasurer, Secretaries and Foreign Secretary are ex-offico members of this as of other occasional committees and request that in future notices of meetings may be sent to them as to other members of the Committee. 13 December 1897
