Has been directed by the Secretaries to make known the following resolution of Council; that the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee be reappointed to consist on the part of the Royal Society of: Captain Abney, Mr Christie, Dr Common, Sir W Huggins, Sir J N Lockyer, Major MacMahon, Professor Schuster, Dr G J Stoney, General Tennant and Admiral Sir W J L Wharton. 20 December 1897
