Copy letter from Michael Foster, to Captain E H Hills, Darland House, Chatham A special meeting of the Royal Society will be held on 31 March to receive preliminary accounts of the observations made during the recent total eclipse. The Astronomer Royal and Sir J Norman Lockyer have promised to make communications and exhibit photographs. Hopes that Hills will be able to attend and to give a preliminary account of his observations. If he is able to attend, asks to receive the title of his communication as soon as possible. 25 March 1898
