Copy letter from Michael Foster, to David Sharp, Fellow of the Royal Society Sharp's application on behalf of the Sandwich Islands Committee for a grant in aid of the expense of publishing the results of the Committee's investigation was laid before the President and Council and the following was resolved: 'That a sum of £250, as an instalment of a grant not to exceed £500, be paid to the Sandwich Islands Committee from the Publication Fund, provided the Government Grant Review Committee are satisfied with the allocation of the specimens collected by the Committee'. 27 June 1898
