  <dc:description>With reference to the protection of the Kew Observatory from disturbances due to electric railways, the Engineer to the London United Tramways Company has written to Professor Perry and Rucker to say:

'The clause for the protection of Kew Observatory as inserted in our London United Tramways Act, 1898, and already incorporated in our Hanwell-Uxbridge Light Railway Order, will be embodied in our present Order - Light Railway Extensions - in order to meet the requirements of your Committee'.

Asks the Secretary to take such steps as to ensure the fulfilment of this engagement.</dc:description>
