Copy memorandum on Dr Clowes' paper by an unknown person 'There is a slight ambiguity which has not struck the author; - "the keuper basement beds of the Trias". I suppose he means "the basement bed of the keuper in the Trias", for the keuper in the upper half of the Trias. I am not sure whether barium suplhate rock was in the basement bed of the keuper which has a technical meaning or merely in the keuper sandstone which forms the lower part of the Keuper, but the author could remove the ambiguity with a stroke of the pen.'
