In reply to Hicks' note enclosing a description of the Watkins aneroid barometer, Harrison has no authority to reserve a space for exhibits at the Society's Soiree for anyone, but will bring his suggestion before the Soiree Committee when they next meet. It is unlikely that they will reserve a space without notice of what it is proposed to exhibit and therefore recommends that Hicks provides further details. 20 February 1899
