<dc:title>Copy letter from Michael Foster and Arthur William Rucker, to Ferdinand Freiherr v. Richthofen, Vorsitzender der Gesellschaft fur Erdkunde, Berlin</dc:title>
<dc:description>Directed by the Joint Antarctic Committee of the Royal Society and Royal Geographical Society to announce that, thanks to the beneficence of a private donor, an English Antarctic Expedition is now possible.

The Committee are anxious that the English and German Expeditions should co-operate, and should start at the same time. Understands that the proposed start date for the German Expedition is August 1901. Asks for confirmation of this. Also states that a personal conference between authorized persons, representing the two Expeditions is necessary.</dc:description>
