Copy letter from Michael Foster, to the Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Relates to the application for a grant from the Government Publication Fund to aid in the publication of observations made at Ben Nevis. The President and Council have decided to grant a sum corresponding to half of the whole expenditure expected (i.e. £500). The payment of this must be spread over three years. The Publication Fund is a grant made yearly by the House of Commons and may be in any year refused. 19 May 1899
