  <dc:description>As he has not been in direct relations with the Admiralty, the Secretary sends a copy of a letter addressed to the Office of Works and asks Christie to take early steps to set his Department in motion.  

In his letter to Boyle, the Secretary encloses letters [on the subject of electrical safeguards for Government Observatories et cetera, not enclosed]. Similar letters have been sent to the Astronomer Royal and the Department of Science and Art. Copies have been sent to the Kew Observatory Committee and the National Physical Laboratory. </dc:description>
