Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Henry James Chaney, Standards Office Asks for the source from which Chaney learnt that the expansion apparatus figured in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' (1876) 30 p282 was obtained via Government Grant, as Mr Rodwell did not have any grant until 1881 and this appears in 1876. Rix should like to correct the schedule if Chaney's information is correct. 28 February 1888
