Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor George Downing Liveing, Fellow of the Royal Society The engravers have expressed alarm as they believe the table or maps of the enclosed paper [not included] to be wrong. Rix suggests that it is probably because the Royal Society and the engravers do not understand it, and so asks that Liveing explain how they are calculated. Rix provides some examples of the apparent conflict between the maps and table to demonstrate the reasons for the confusion. 26 March 1888
