<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]</dc:title>
<dc:description>Rix has written to the eclipse observers, and has discovered that the Royal Society is to receive reports from Professor Thorpe, and another by Captain L Darwin and Arthur Schuster. He believes a report from Joseph Norman Lockyer is unlikely, but is writing to ask him. Also records that George Howard Darwin has written to urgently request the return of his press-copy of the new paper; as Rix understood from Strutt that Sir William Thomson did not wish to see the paper again he has sent this off, and retained the original copy for use of the other referee.</dc:description>
