Dear Mr Preece,
I find that the price of Palladium is now eight guineas an ounce, and making due allowance for difference in density, the Davy medal in Palladium would yet cost between £46 and £47 instead of under £30. This seems to be an insuperable difficulty.
Yours faithfully,
H Rix
