Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to George Fergusson Wilson, Fellow of the Royal Society Wilson was not alone in not attending, as only 172 of the 190 who put down their names dined. Although the manager 'mumbled a little', Rix thinks it unlikely that he will send a claim and if not, unlikely that the Royal Society will accept it. Rix hopes he is not unwell after getting wet, and notes that a number of the Royal Society Fellows and himself are suffering from rheumatism. 3 December 1888
