Copy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Clements Robert Markham, [Fellow of the Royal Society] Professor [Arthur William] Rucker and Foster were very glad to receive Markham's letter and were relieved to hear the course which Markham proposes to adopt. They will do their best to make the meeting of the Joint Committee [Antarctic Expedition] as little as possible a cause of 'friction and annoyance'. 13 December 1900
