<dc:title>Copy letter from Arthur [William] Rucker, to Professor [Robert Bellamy] Clifton, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Sending the abstract of a paper by [Louis Napoleon George] Filon communicated by [James Alfred] Ewing. It is a mathematical paper with a good deal of arithmetical work. [William Cawthorne] Unwin, [Charles] Chree, Osborne Reynolds or [John] Perry are potential referees.

Has [Joseph Norman] Lockyer's account of last year's eclipse with the report from the Captain of the 'Theseus', including names of the sailors who observed it. Asks Clifton if [William de Wiveleslie] Abney and [Arthur] Schuster or [William Henry Mahoney] Christie should be referees.

Rucker is communicating a paper by Captain Lyons, who has made a lot of magnetic observations in Egypt. It should probably be regarded for 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. Asks Clifton if he should ask [Charles] Chree and [Ettrick William] Creak to be referees.</dc:description>
