<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Alfred Bray Kempe, Treasurer, Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Had waited to write to Kempe until he had the matter of the Funafuti drawings settled. After communicating with Professor [Thomas George] Bonney, Harrison has paid the cheque for £215 to the Bank of New Zealand and has obtained the bill of lading et cetera, which he has sent to the shipping company with a request to deliver the plates to the Society. Bonney shared with Harrison considerable resentment at the manner in which the transaction has been carried through; namely by drawing a bill on the Society in favour of the bank and forwarding them the documents. Bonney has written strongly to Professor Edgeworth David on the matter.

Harrison thinks a grant will ultimately have to be made to the Coral Reef Committee to cover the expense of producing this monograph: the resolution of Council authorizing its production, being in the form of an authority to the Coral Reef Committee to prepare the monograph; and it will rest with Kempe when he returns to determine on which fund to make a claim for this grant. A previous expenditure of £116 on this monograph was met by a direct grant from the Donation Fund this year. </dc:description>
