Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to William Dobinson Halliburton, Fellow of the Royal Society Regarding Professor McWilliam [J A MacWilliam], the minute of the Committee was that the communicator of the paper should call on the author to condense it for publication in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. Sir M Foster was the communicator. The communication to the author was perhaps more stringent in effect than the Committee really intended and Harrison feels that if Halliburton communicated with the author with a view to reasonable condensation, the paper will be accepted if amended in such a way as Halliburton approves. Will explain to Foster that he has written to Halliburton. Encloses a copy of the letter sent to Professor McWilliam [not enclosed]. 20 January 1902
