  <dc:description>Communicates to him an appended resolution passed at a recent Council meeting, and asks Markham to bring it before the Council of the Royal Geographical Society. The resolution is that the Royal Society and the Royal Geographical Society should appoint Dr G Murray of the British Museum as Director of Civilian Scientific Staff. It is intended that Murray should not proceed with the ship to the ice, he will leave the ship at Melbourne. Along with Commander Scott he will make appointments in the Civilian/Scientific Staff as necessary.</dc:description>
