  <dc:description>Encloses a letter from Professor R B Clifton concerning Messrs Coker and Clement's paper 'An Experimental Determination of the Variation of the Critical Velocity of Water with Temperature'. The paper was sent to Professor Gray on 1 September but has not yet been received back. Clifton's letter also refers to Dr J Muir's paper 'Changes in Elastic Properties produced by the Sudden Cooling or Quenching of Metals. The latter was accepted for consideration and ordered for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' by the Secretary, without going to a referee. [No enclosures]</dc:description>
