Copy letter from Michael Foster, to William Bate Hardy, Fellow of the Royal Society In reply to Hardy's letter of 16 June, states that the President and Council at their last meeting passed a resolution that a sum not exceeding £100 be voted from the Donation Fund to be placed in the hands of a Committee consisting of Sir William Crookes, Professor Liveing as Chairman, Dr Thorpe, and Mr Hardy, to be used at the discretion of that Committee, to assist research.
