<dc:title>Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Sir C Ll. Hil, Superintendent of the African Protectorates, Foreign Office</dc:title>
<dc:description>In view of the alarming extension of the Sleeping Sickness in Africa, the Tropical Diseases Committee have determined, if possible, to send without delay and in addition to the observers, a trained naturalist who will be able to grapple with some of the still unsolved problems of this deadly disease, especially those connected with insect life. The expense is estimated at £1000. The Royal Society would be glad if the Foreign Office could contribute £500, for a nine month to one year posting.</dc:description>
