Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor John Henry Poynting, Fellow of the Royal Society Rix states that the Royal Society have only one copy remaining of volume one in cloth, but it has a broken corner. If he wishes to return it and purchase it instead in half-morocco at four shillings and six pence extra they would be willing to make the exchange, but cannot reduce the price for the damaged volume. 29 April 1889
