<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr William Marcet, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Rix has submitted Marcet's note to the Royal Society's President, George Gabriel Stokes, but he wishes Rix to explain that there were complaints of overcrowding at last year's Soirée. Stokes wants Rix to ask whether Dr W Pasteur is a a man of great scientific attainments or otherwise specially entitled, as without such a reason, nominees by those Fellows who are not members of the Library Committee are not usually admitted.</dc:description>
