Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to W F La Trobe Bateman, Moor Park, Farnham Rix informs Bateman that they had already heard with regret of his father, John Frederic La Trobe Bateman's death, and thanks him for notice of the funeral, which will be communicated to the Royal Society Officers. He, however, notes that as the Society is in recess, and the Officers away in the country, it is unlikely they will be able to attend. 13 June 1889
