Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mrs Henry Pott Rix states that the Royal Society library can only be used on the introduction of a Fellow or with the permission of the Council. If she does not know a Fellow of the Society, she simply needs to send in a note to the Council outling her research topic, and should receive a prompt reply. Rix notes that they do not have a collection of instruments, but do have the first Newtonian telescope made by Sir Isaac Newton himself. 27 June 1889
