Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Librarian, Free Public Library, Wellington Street, Leicester Rix explains that the price of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' varies from three pounds and ten shillings to six pounds a year, and that 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' is around two pounds and two shillings a year, but that both are issued at irregular intervals and at various prices, and are advertised in the Times, Nature and Athenaeum. Rix states that they can apply for a grant, but that it is doubtful that the free list will be extended. He also explains that they can be purchase from Messrs Harrison & Sons, or direct from the Royal Society. 9 July 1889
