<dc:title>Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Walter Frank Raphael Weldon, [Fellow of the Royal Society]</dc:title>
<dc:description>Mr Harrison has shown Geikie Weldon's letter to him of 17 February with reference to Dr Bastian's paper of which the abstract was sent to Weldon by today's post. Asks if Weldon will advise as to the treatment of the paper by the Society. Geikie marked it as accepted for consideration . Geikie knows the long history of Dr Bastian's work and of his previous communications to the Society but whether or not this new paper is another of the same, Geikie thinks the authors long connection with the Society entitles him to the fullest consideration. Unless the paper is mere mad folly, which it probably may be, Geikie's own feeling would be to give him a hearing, but the matter rests with Weldon and his committee. </dc:description>
