<dc:title>Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Colonel David Bruce</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Bruce,
I don't think there will be any difficulty in getting an advance to Eyre before he starts. We can hardly raise the question at the C.O. [Commonwealth Office] until they answer the application. But we could give Eyre an advance from the R.S. [Royal Society] on the understanding that he would repay it from the funds to be supplied by the C.O.
Yours truly
Archibald Geikie'.</dc:description>
