Copy letter from Theodore E James, to Professor Joseph Larmor, Secretary, Royal Society James informs Larmor about two proposed exhibits for the Royal Society's Soiree. The first is Conrad Beck's suggestion that a new microscope, invented by Walter Rosenhain, for the study of metals would be interesting enough to exhibit. The second is a demonstration of an experiment by Beck showing the resolution of an object under the microscrope with the highest powers and with monochromatic green light, demonstrating the effect of a change in wave length, using different coloured light, on the visibility of the object. 27 April 1906
