  <dc:description>Is instructed by the Observatories Committee to report to the Government of India that the Committee have had under consideration the letter of 9 May 1906, relating to the appointment of a third Principal Assistant in the Indian Meteorological Service and the documents relating thereto. States two resolutions adopted by the Committee at their recent meeting: that it is desirable the three Principal Assistants should be placed on an equality as regarding standing and emoluments; and that subject to the aforementioned resolution, the Committee recommend appointed G C Simpson as a Principal Assistant. Simpson is a trained practical meteorologist of high reputation. </dc:description>
