Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to the Under Secretary of State, India Office Is instructed by the Observatories Committee to report to the Government of India that the Committee have had under consideration the letter of 9 May 1906, relating to the appointment of a third Principal Assistant in the Indian Meteorological Service and the documents relating thereto. States two resolutions adopted by the Committee at their recent meeting: that it is desirable the three Principal Assistants should be placed on an equality as regarding standing and emoluments; and that subject to the aforementioned resolution, the Committee recommend appointed G C Simpson as a Principal Assistant. Simpson is a trained practical meteorologist of high reputation. 29 June 1906
