<dc:title>Copy letter from Alfred Bray Kempe, to the Under Secretary of State, the Colonial Office</dc:title>
<dc:description>Kempe has raised with C P Lucas the matter of the expense of completing Professor Herdman's report on the Ceylon Pearl Fisheries. The initial estimate of Parts III and IV was £500, which the Ceylon Government agreed to pay. It has actually cost £840-8-9. Volume V amounts to £534-8-0. The total cost amounts to £874-16-9 more than the amount promised by the Ceylon Government. The Royal Society have voted a sum of £374-16-9, but the £500 is not yet provided for. Asks if the Secretary of State will ask the Ceylon Government to pay the extra £500.</dc:description>
