Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Chrystal In answer to his queries, the Royal Irish Academy has claimed 'distinct representation' without specifying the number of delegates and that they have applied directly to the Royal Society. According the the rules of the International Association of Academies, any fresh claim for representation in the association must be made through one of the constituent academies. There is no urgency in he matter for it cannot be brought before the Vienna meeting in May. The question will have to be considered as part of embracing parts of the British Empire as a whole. 26 March 1907
