Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Hamilton Dent, Buckland, Lymington, Hampshire In response to Dent's enquiry, Harrison gives details of John Dent, Member of Parliament, who was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society on 16 May 1811, and formally admitted on 13 June 1811. The certificate of qualification for election, signed by twelve Fellows, refers to him as a man "conversant in many branches of Natural Knowledge" and living at Hertford Street, Mayfair. They have no further information, and Dent does not appear in the Dictionary of National Biography. 12 December 1907
