<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor F [Francis] W [Wall] Oliver FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>The decision as to Professor Buller's paper 'On the production, liberation and distribution of the spores of hymenomycetes' is still in abeyance. The paper has been to three referees (Mr H Wager, Sir W Thiselton Dyer, and Mr W C D Whetham). In view of the referee's differing opinions Professor Seward, the ex-Chairman of the Bottany committee said that the author should have the option of withdrawing his paper, as it is not suitable as it stands for publication and that the suggestion of publishing it in a book is a good one and he should be told this suggestion. Harrison writes that the [Royal] Society would like a definite recommendation on the subject from the Botany Committee and Oliver may think it desirable to hold a meeting. The only other Transactions [of the Royal Society] paper outstanding is by Arber and Thomas about which Harrison wrote on Tuesday. Harrison asks whether the Committee ought to meet and when would be convenient'. </dc:description>
