Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Dr C I Forsyth Major, British Museum (Natural History) 'My dear Sir, In reply to your letter of yesterday, it is not customary for the Council to inform candidates that they have been selected for nomination to the [Royal] Society as Fellows, that step being only a preliminary one and requiring conformation by the election of the Society. It has however become a practise to communicate the list of names to the press. There will be submitted to the Society for election on May 7.' 10 March 1908
