<dc:title>Copy letter from Archibald Geikie to Professor Martin</dc:title>
 <dc:description>'Dear Professor Martin,
Prof[essor] Schafer has returned the paper by messrs Lochhard & Cramer as shortened by the authors. I find however, that they have still left it tricky [?] to make some 20 pages of the Proceedings [of the Royal Society]. Prof Starling thought it should not exceed 12 or 16 pages. Would you desire it to be returned for further condensation or to be accepted as it is? This is a [?] feeling against the insertion of long papers in the Proceedings [of the Royal Society] and I have recently had complaints about the B series in this respect. Would you like to see this paper again? It seems to me that some of the tabular matter might be curtailable.'</dc:description>
