Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Campbell Dodgson, Department of Prints and Drawings, British Museum, WC 'Dear Sir, In reply to your letter of March 5th, unfortunately we know very little about the picture of Haller. The information in regard to Stoppelser is derived from a memorandum written in ink on a wooden cross-bar at the back of the picture, which reads thus: "C.V. Stoppelaer Pinx. 1765". Below is written (also in ink) - "The above is a fac-simile of the writing on the back of the original canvas".' 15 March 1909
