Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to L F [Leveson Francis] Vernon-Harcourt The full manuscript of Vernon-Harcourt's paper on 'Investigations into the Effects of Training Walls in an Estuary like the Mersey' will be deposited in the Royal Society's archive and carefully preserved in a bound volume. It is contrary to the Society's statutes for a manuscript once it has been read to leave the house but the Council will doubtless permit a copy to be made and will raise no objection to Vernon-Harcourt publishing it elsewhere. 24 February 1890
