Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Miss Chambers, Rutland House, Blundellsands, Liverpool Rix asks Miss Chambers to begin work on 22 July. She will have two days to learn the topography of the office and to do a little in the correction of sheets and on Thursday Mr White will return from his holiday. Rix has asked White to spend a week coaching Chambers so that the routine may be established before Rix leaves England on 1 August. White, who is now assistant librarian, was formerly at the head of the cataloguing department and Chambers will have to look to him a good deal in the details of the work. 18 July 1890
