Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Secretary, Department of Mines, Sydney Adverting to the Secretary's letter of 13 November 1889, the fossil skull of Thylacopardus was carefully packed in the presence of two witnesses yesterday and sent by parcel-post for dispatch by the next mail leaving England on 6 February. In accordance with the Secretary's request no attempt has been made to repair the fossil but it has been returned in the condition in which it arrived. A small packet of soft paper containing the fragments of the fossil which were found among the packing was placed in the same box above the skull. 31 January 1890
