Rix has received the Managing Director's letter of 15 October and is sending it on to the Secretary. He notes that a decision is required within a week but the Royal Society's Officers live at a distance from London and the Society is currently in vacation. Under these circumstances Rix wonders if his correspondent may extend the time allowed for coming to a decision. 16 October 1890
