Dr Chree, FRS [Fellow of the Royal Society] has intimated his desire to withdraw the paper by Mr Arthur Wright and yourself on an "Electrical device for evaluating formulae and solving equations", which he recently communicated to the Society; and at his request I am forwarding to Manuscript direct to you. The paper in question is returned upon the understanding that it is to regarded as not having been communicated to the Royal Society at all, and I shall be much obliged to you if, in acknowledging its safe receipt, you will let me have written assurance to this effect in accordance with the requirements of the Standing Orders of the Society.'</dc:description>
